About the Role
You will architect, develop, integrate, and test a configurable Run-Time Assurance module for autonomous systems. You will integrate it with mission-autonomy software and middleware, ensure robust fail-safe behavior on physical platforms, create certification artifacts, establish software practices, and mentor developers in safe software development.
Requirements
- 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 9 years with a Master’s degree, 7 years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience designing and developing C++ safety-critical software systems with real-time guarantees.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving software quality practices.
- Experience integrating software on physical systems and improving performance and reliability.
- Expertise in C++ software architecture design patterns.
- Knowledge of DO-178C and MIL-HDBK-516 software assurance certifications.
- Git, Linux, CI/CD, and test-driven development skills.
- Technical leadership experience.
- Experience with MISRA C++ or JSF AV C++ is preferred.
- Experience completing a certification process is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Drive architecture, development, integration, and testing of the Run-Time Assurance module.
- Design and integrate with mission-autonomy software and high-assurance middleware.
- Integrate and test the capability on diverse platforms and conditions.
- Drive code analysis, audit trails, and review processes.
- Generate certification artifacts, including analysis reports, documentation, ADRs, ICDs, and system models.
- Mentor developers on safe software development practices.
