About the Role
You will lead front-end engineering for power projects and review electrical designs, studies, and vendor deliverables. You will support construction and commissioning, troubleshoot electrical failures, optimize plant infrastructure, integrate high- and medium-voltage equipment, and conduct protection and control studies.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience
- Expert knowledge of NEC application to industrial installations
- Understanding of generator physics and operations
- Proficiency in protection and control coordination studies and fault analysis
- Knowledge of IEC 61850
- Ability to work with engineers and operations personnel
- Ability to travel approximately 20% to project sites
Responsibilities
- Lead front-end engineering for capital power projects
- Review electrical layouts, one-lines, wiring diagrams, schematics, studies, and control narratives
- Review vendor drawings and consultant deliverables
- Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning
- Troubleshoot electrical failures and perform root-cause analysis
- Optimize power infrastructure for uptime
- Specify and integrate high- and medium-voltage equipment
- Apply Governor and AVR control knowledge
- Implement IEC 61850, GOOSE, and MMS protocols
- Conduct protection and control coordination studies and fault analysis
