About the Role
You will design standardized medium-voltage networks, substations, bus ties, feeders, cables, transformers, and protection systems. You will perform network studies, define equipment specifications and switching sequences, and improve the design standard using lessons from energized sites.
Requirements
- Experience building ETAP or SKM PowerTools models for medium-voltage networks
- Experience building PSCAD models of switching, energization, or islanded events
- Experience setting protection philosophies and relay settings for systems with limited or variable fault current
- Experience designing medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, cables, duct banks, and grounding
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and IEEE requirements
- Experience designing medium-voltage substations or bus-tie schemes for live-load expansion
- Experience standardizing designs across multiple projects
Responsibilities
- Design standardized medium-voltage networks from generation blocks to data halls
- Design cluster ties and medium-voltage substations
- Perform load-flow, voltage-drop, short-circuit, protection-coordination, and EMT studies
- Define protection philosophy and relay settings
- Write specifications for medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, cables, and relaying
- Define standard-design limits and triggers for site-specific studies
- Incorporate lessons from energized sites into design revisions
