About the Role

You will lead the electrical design and system integration of silicon photonics hardware products. You will define hardware requirements, design power, memory, and interconnect circuits, develop models and simulations, review PCB layouts, validate systems in the lab, and support manufacturing through prototype and production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of related system-level electrical design experience, including taking products from concept to production.
  • Proficiency in schematic design using Cadence, Mentor, or Altium; Altium preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of VRMs, high-speed SERDES, CPUs, PCIe, Ethernet, QSPI, I3C, and I2C.
  • 5+ years of experience in lab experimentation, non-intrusive circuit debugging, and leading cross-functional integration teams.
  • Experience with thermal solutions for integrated circuits and board-level systems.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools such as Oracle Agile, Arena, or Omnify PLM, including BOM and ECO management.
  • Capacity to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with system architects and technical leads to define system-level hardware requirements and specifications.
  • Design power, memory, and interconnect circuits across analog and digital domains.
  • Select electrical and optical components based on IC and photonics specifications.
  • Develop conceptual designs, physical models, and simulations for chip modules and systems.
  • Review PCB layouts and provide detailed electrical constraint rules.
  • Ensure board and system manufacturability, yield, and robustness.
  • Qualify electrical properties of chips and systems.
  • Perform laboratory validation of boards and systems.
  • Lead integration with mechanical, software, IC, and related teams.
  • Support contract manufacturing during prototype and production phases.
  • Work with component vendors and supply partners.
  • Research components, processes, and technologies to meet product goals.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement savings matching program.
  • Life insurance, including basic, voluntary, and AD&D coverage.
  • Generous vacation, sick time, and public holidays.
  • Paid family leave.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
