About the Role

You will design and operate database platforms for critical infrastructure services. You will improve high availability, replication, backup, recovery, performance, observability, automation, and incident response; establish engineering standards; collaborate on infrastructure integrations; and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of production database engineering, administration, or architecture experience
• Production experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with MySQL, Percona, or equivalent relational database platforms
• Experience designing and operating highly available database systems
• Experience with replication, failover, backup, restore, and disaster recovery
• SQL performance tuning experience
• Linux systems knowledge
• Production incident response and root cause analysis experience
• Database monitoring and observability experience

Responsibilities

• Design and own database architecture for infrastructure and platform services
• Define standards for high availability, replication, failover, backup, recovery, and security
• Operate and improve PostgreSQL, MySQL, Percona, and adjacent database systems
• Tune database performance and resolve production issues
• Build database observability, alerting, and preventive automation
• Automate provisioning, configuration, backup verification, health checks, and recovery workflows
• Lead database incident triage, root cause analysis, and remediation
• Mentor engineers and review database-impacting changes
