About the Role

You will operate and tune the StarRocks serving layer, build reliable data pipelines for government cloud investigations, reduce infrastructure single points of failure, and use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to resolve production issues in a regulated environment.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems such as StarRocks, Trino, or ClickHouse
  • Experience with query tuning and performance optimization at scale
  • Experience owning data pipeline reliability and incident response
  • Experience using Claude, Cursor, or similar AI tools for debugging, code review, and documentation
  • Ability to independently operate unfamiliar production infrastructure
  • Ability to take on-call responsibility with minimal oversight

Responsibilities

  • Tune performance on the StarRocks serving layer
  • Use AI-assisted query profiling to identify and fix slow query patterns
  • Build and harden data pipelines for government cloud investigations
  • Operate and troubleshoot the serving layer independently
  • Reduce single points of failure in government cloud data infrastructure
  • Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to triage production issues
  • Respond to incidents and implement root-cause fixes
  • Participate in production incident retrospectives and improve runbooks
