About the Role

You will design and develop solid rocket motors and propulsion hardware across the product lifecycle. You will perform performance, combustion, thermal, structural, and ballistics analyses; create engineering documentation; support qualification testing and anomaly investigations; and resolve technical issues with cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with 4–15 years of relevant experience, a master's degree with 2–13 years, or additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with solid rocket motors, solid propulsion systems, energetic systems, or related aerospace hardware
  • Knowledge of solid-propulsion engineering disciplines
  • Engineering analysis and problem-solving experience
  • Component, subsystem, or system-level testing experience
  • Technical documentation, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead technical projects or complex engineering efforts depending on experience level
  • U.S. Person status and eligibility for required export authorizations

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and develop solid rocket motors and propulsion hardware
  • Perform motor-performance, ballistics, combustion, thermal, structural, and propulsion analyses
  • Develop requirements, analyses, drawings, specifications, test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Support propulsion development and qualification testing
  • Review test data and investigate anomalies
  • Work with manufacturing, quality, test, systems, program management, and suppliers
  • Support design reviews, risk assessments, failure investigations, and configuration changes
  • Balance performance, manufacturability, reliability, cost, schedule, and safety requirements
  • Lead technical work packages or mentor less experienced engineers depending on experience level
