About the Role
You lead the Investigations team, shape technical direction, and guide the development of scalable products for crypto investigations. You write and review code, make sound technical decisions, collaborate with product and data engineers, explain complex concepts to stakeholders, coach team members, and establish effective practices for AI-assisted coding. You work across backend, frontend, and data systems while balancing technical quality with business needs.
Requirements
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 software engineers for at least 2 years
- Strong experience with TypeScript across backend development using Node.js and NestJS and frontend development using React and Redux
- Experience architecting scalable UI applications and APIs and making informed technology and architectural decisions
- Experience leading technical initiatives, fostering collaboration, driving delivery, and maintaining high engineering standards
- Understanding of data visualization and experience rendering complex network graphs and transaction flows
- Experience with databases and writing SQL queries
- Understanding of AWS Serverless, API Gateway, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- Experience with monitoring tools such as DataDog and observability practices
- Interest or experience in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology

- Write and review code to unblock the team and demonstrate best practices
- Pair with team members to share knowledge and solve technical issues
- Guide technical decisions by evaluating trade-offs and business objectives
- Collaborate with the Product team and stakeholders on meaningful missions
- Help team members develop problem-solving skills and become self-sufficient
- Provide system overviews and context to new team members
- Attend Lead meetings to share updates and best practices
- Explain complex technical concepts to engineers, managers, and business stakeholders
- Set standards for using AI coding tools and reviewing AI-assisted code
- Coach and mentor team members
- Lead technical direction and development of product improvements
