About the Role
You will lead development for Business Operations technology supporting Procurement, Finance, and Human Resources. You will develop a bitemporal PostgreSQL cost-attribution database, integrate data from internal systems, build pipelines and reports, apply AI capabilities through native tools and APIs, and create automated solutions while maintaining appropriate security and data-handling controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
- 3-5 years of professional software development experience
- Experience working as a sole or lead developer on cross-functional projects
- Strong proficiency in Python or another backend language used for data integration and automation
- Strong SQL skills
- Relational database design experience
- PostgreSQL experience
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, error handling, and data transformation
- Experience integrating Jira or JSM, NetSuite, Bitbucket or Git, and Device42 or equivalent tools
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM or AI APIs such as Anthropic or OpenAI
- Experience with prompt construction and structured and unstructured outputs
- Version control proficiency with Git
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Experience in financial services, trading, or a data- and compliance-sensitive industry
- Experience with cost allocation, chargeback, or FinOps frameworks
- Experience building internal tools or dashboards for non-technical users
- Exposure to procurement or vendor management systems
Responsibilities
- Lead development efforts for the FP&A Cost Attribution Project
- Develop a bitemporal PostgreSQL database for traceable cost allocation
- Build and maintain integrations with Jira, NetSuite, Device42, Bitbucket, and other data sources
- Support the Q1 2027 deployment with schema documentation and handoff materials
- Maintain the cost-attribution system in production
- Lead engineering efforts for Business Operations teams
- Rebuild quote order management systems with the Procurement team
- Build data pipelines and automate reports for Finance and Human Resources
- Integrate systems as operational needs arise
- Prioritize development work with the Director of Operations
- Identify and implement native AI features in existing business tools
- Build custom integrations using APIs, MCP, or comparable protocols
- Evaluate manual processes and implement AI-assisted or automated alternatives
- Maintain security best practices and data-handling controls when integrating AI tooling
