About the Role
You will design and implement software functionality with architects, developers, and testers. You will build REST APIs and trading architecture, review code, develop unit tests, resolve support issues, estimate delivery work, contribute to requirements, and improve application performance and development processes.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience with RPG, DB2, and IBMi AS/400
- SQL and database-design experience
- Experience with testing frameworks
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and algorithms
- Experience with large-scale systems and modern software architectures
- Experience with continuous-integration tools such as Git or Bitbucket
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience with Kanban or Scrum
- Organisational and time-management skills
- Communication, analytical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Design and implement functionality with Solution Architects, Developers, and Testers
- Design and implement REST APIs and trading architecture
- Present product demos to stakeholders
- Perform code reviews
- Develop unit tests to meet quality requirements
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve support issues with clients
- Apply software-development best practices and SDLC processes
- Produce development estimates and support technical delivery planning
- Contribute to requirements gathering and software specifications
- Work with testers on solution and testing requirements
- Communicate work status to the Delivery Team
- Identify application efficiency and performance improvements
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to process improvement
