About the Role

You will ship performance-critical robot software and contribute to data flow from cameras through perception and planning to actuator feedback. You will help maintain deterministic control loops, build low-latency perception-path components, reduce latency, and create tooling for observing and debugging real-time controls and vision.

Requirements

  • 1+ years building software close to hardware, or strong new-graduate project or internship experience
  • Programming fundamentals in Rust, C++, or Python
  • Operating-system and multithreading knowledge
  • Experience building production systems, internal tools, student-team projects, or personal projects
  • Experience debugging timing, concurrency, or hardware issues
  • Ability to work on-site in San Francisco five days per week, with six days during crunch time if needed

Responsibilities

  • Ship performance-critical code to robots
  • Learn and contribute to end-to-end perception, planning, control, and actuator data flow
  • Help maintain deterministic real-time control loops
  • Build low-latency perception data-path components
  • Reduce latency and improve reliability
  • Build real-time observability and debugging tooling
