About the Role
You will build cloud storage for training, sandbox, and general compute workloads. You will develop block, file, and object storage services in Go, own data-plane capabilities, plan capacity across datacenters and failure domains, and work with product managers on storage roadmap and tradeoffs.
Requirements
- Experience building object, block, or distributed filesystem storage systems
- Knowledge of distributed systems, durability, consistency, replication, erasure coding, and failure domains
- Experience shipping production systems in Go or readiness to write Go daily from C++ or Rust
- Knowledge of HDD, SSD, NVMe, and storage economics
- 5+ years building backend or infrastructure systems
- Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams to ship software for users
Responsibilities
- Build block, file, and object storage for training, sandbox, and general compute workloads
- Design and write Go services for S3-compatible APIs, tiering, backup and recovery, and caching
- Own data-plane allocation, duplication, tiering, backup, and recovery
- Plan capacity across datacenters and failure domains
- Partner with Product Managers on the storage roadmap and technical and business tradeoffs
