About the Role

You will build and evolve backend services that detect and prevent fraud across account access and money movement. You will develop enforcement and response tooling, improve account-takeover protections, and design observable systems with metrics, dashboards, alerting, and incident playbooks. You will strengthen authentication and identity foundations and drive technical design, implementation, rollout, and iteration based on outcome metrics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent
  • Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including APIs, distributed systems, data modeling, and reliability
  • Experience building data-informed detection or decisioning systems, or strong interest in learning in this domain
  • Ability to operate production systems through debugging, incident response, instrumentation, and automation
  • Cross-functional communication skills and comfort working with product and operations partners

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve backend services that detect and prevent fraud across account access and money movement
  • Develop enforcement and response tooling for identity locks, business locks, payment freezes, and other containment actions
  • Improve protections against account takeover through risk-based step-ups, monitoring, targeted friction controls, and MFA surge detection and alerting
  • Design and operate observable systems with metrics, dashboards, alerting, and incident and fraud-campaign playbooks
  • Strengthen authentication and identity foundations, including roles, permissions, and identity state
  • Drive technical design, implementation, rollout strategy, and iteration based on outcome metrics
