About the Role

Build and evolve backend services that detect and prevent fraud across account access and money movement. Develop enforcement and response tooling, improve account-takeover protections, design observable systems with metrics, dashboards, alerting, and incident playbooks, strengthen authentication and identity foundations, and drive technical design, implementation, rollout, and iteration based on outcome metrics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent
  • Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including APIs, distributed systems, data modeling, and reliability
  • Experience building data-informed detection or decisioning systems, or strong interest in learning in this domain
  • Ability to operate production systems through debugging, incident response, instrumentation, and automation
  • Cross-functional communication skills and comfort working with product and operations partners

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve backend services that detect and prevent fraud across account access and money movement
  • Develop enforcement and response tooling for identity locks, business locks, payment freezes, and other containment actions
  • Improve protections against account takeover through risk-based step-ups, monitoring, targeted friction controls, and MFA surge detection and alerting
  • Design and operate observable systems with metrics, dashboards, alerting, and incident and fraud-campaign playbooks
  • Strengthen authentication and identity foundations, including roles, permissions, and identity state
  • Drive technical design, implementation, rollout strategy, and iteration based on outcome metrics
