About the Role

You will build and scale backend systems that power spend controls, approval workflows, and card transactions. You will work with product, design, and data to deliver finance experiences, integrate AI-based policy enforcement and anomaly detection, and own projects from architecture through deployment and observability. You will partner with platform and integrations teams to improve reliability, scalability, data consistency, performance, accuracy, and resilience across financial systems.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience in backend engineering or full-stack engineering with a backend focus.
  • Strong backend-systems and API-design fundamentals.
  • Experience with Python, Go, or TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, AWS, and modern observability tooling.
  • Ability to balance technical quality with speed and user value.
  • Fintech or payments experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to AI- or rule-based automation systems is a plus.
  • Experience integrating with ERP or accounting systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with security, risk, or compliance-driven domains is a plus.
  • Experience building reliable distributed systems that process high volumes of financial or transactional data is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and scale backend systems for spend controls, approval workflows, and card transactions.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and data to deliver user-focused experiences for finance teams.
  • Integrate with the internal AI platform to automate spend-policy enforcement and anomaly detection.
  • Own complex projects end to end, from architecture through deployment and observability.
  • Partner with Product Platform and Integrations teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and data consistency across financial systems.
  • Improve transaction and policy infrastructure for performance, accuracy, and resilience.
