About the Role
You will lead the backend development of a crypto exchange aggregation platform. You will own architectural and technical decisions, build and maintain exchange-provider integrations, improve reliability and scalability, resolve production issues, develop critical components, review code, and guide planning, prioritization, and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Commercial backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience as a Tech Lead or Senior/Staff Backend Engineer with ownership of complex systems
- Deep understanding of software architecture, design principles, patterns, and microservices
- Experience with crypto-related systems or transaction-processing platforms
- Experience designing and integrating third-party APIs, including failure handling, timeouts, retries, and error recovery
- Strong PostgreSQL and complex SQL query optimization skills without relying on an ORM
- Experience building high-load, scalable, fault-tolerant systems
- Understanding of application security and common vulnerabilities
- Experience with production monitoring, logging, profiling, and troubleshooting
- Experience writing unit and end-to-end tests
- Ability to make independent technical decisions, prioritize engineering work, and guide a small development team
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical development of Tangem Express and own backend architecture, code quality, and technical decisions
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations with external crypto exchange providers
- Ensure the aggregation platform is highly available, reliable, and performant
- Improve architecture, address technical debt, and drive scalability improvements
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues involving external providers
- Develop critical components, review code, and solve complex technical challenges
- Drive technical planning, task estimation, prioritization, and backlog management
- Establish engineering best practices and maintain high development standards
