About the Role
You will design, implement, review, profile, and debug production control-plane software. You will connect low-level hardware capabilities to management, diagnostics, security, and firmware updates. You will own major features from architecture through integration, testing, and production validation, while providing technical direction and mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with technical ownership of production systems software or infrastructure
- Background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science through relevant education or equivalent practical experience
- Strong production Go experience, including concurrent services, API design, testing, profiling, and operational debugging
- Current hands-on production coding and debugging practice
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python, Bash, or another systems language
- Knowledge of web applications, distributed services, Linux systems, device interfaces, and low-level protocols
- Deep Linux systems knowledge
- Experience building software that interfaces with hardware through drivers, firmware APIs, management controllers, PCIe, I2C, or similar boundaries
- Ability to design reliable distributed systems, control planes, or workload-management services
- Debugging and root-cause analysis skills across application, operating system, firmware, and hardware boundaries
- Experience with platform security, including authentication, authorization, certificates, secrets, and update integrity
- Experience carrying features through architecture, implementation, integration, testing, and production operation
- Technical leadership experience through architecture, design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and cross-functional execution
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of system-management services and APIs
- Design, write, and review production Go code and use C, C++, Python, or Bash where appropriate
- Work across web applications, management APIs, Linux services, hardware interfaces, and low-level protocols
- Refactor critical subsystems to improve modularity, testability, and fault isolation
- Define stable interfaces and data models for orchestration, diagnostics, management tooling, and customer workflows
- Partner with hardware, firmware, and systems engineers to create reliable platform services
- Debug board-level and system-level failures across hardware interfaces and accelerators
- Build safe control paths for reboot state, accelerator recovery, hardware health, and resource allocation
- Integrate telemetry and management-controller capabilities into platform APIs and workflows
- Build diagnostics, metrics, logs, alerts, health probes, and recovery workflows
- Implement certificate management, RBAC, authentication, and HSM-backed secret-store integrations
- Build secure boot, signed-artifact, software and firmware update, and rollback workflows
- Lead design and code reviews and mentor engineers
- Produce architecture documents, test procedures, runbooks, and release notes
- Support system assembly, bring-up, troubleshooting, and server racking
Benefits
- Fully company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents
- Company-paid life and disability coverage, with voluntary additional coverage options
- Supplemental hospital, critical illness, and accident coverage
- Unlimited paid time off
- 13 paid company holidays
- Company-provided computer
- 401(k) with company matching from day one
