About the Role

You will build and operate backend services for the control plane, including lifecycle management, usage reporting, schema-driven product integrations, and internal operational tooling. You will design durable APIs and contracts, reconcile desired and observed states, integrate third-party systems, improve reliability, and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building and operating production backend systems
  • Ability to reason across interacting systems, failures, consistency, and system boundaries
  • Experience designing versioned APIs and contracts with backward compatibility and deprecation
  • Knowledge of asynchronous and event-driven systems, including idempotency, retries, partial failure, and eventual consistency
  • Experience debugging networking, performance, and data-integrity issues across the stack
  • Ability to work independently with ambiguity and drive loosely defined problems to completion
  • Ability to become productive quickly in an unfamiliar programming language

Responsibilities

  • Own lifecycle operation, usage reporting, and schema-contract interfaces, including versioning and migration
  • Integrate third-party billing systems and partner systems
  • Drive cross-functional coordination for shared control-plane integrations
  • Improve tooling and processes that keep the platform maintainable and reliable
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for the control-plane services you own
