About the Role

You will own REST API standards, design and ship platform endpoints, build gateway capabilities, and create reusable platform primitives. You will work across backend services, developer tools, SDKs, client libraries, documentation, and API-usage instrumentation while bringing developer feedback into roadmap planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience building and shipping public-facing APIs or developer platforms
• REST API design expertise, including versioning, backward compatibility, pagination, error semantics, hypermedia, OpenAPI, and JSON Schema
• Modern backend language proficiency, ideally Golang
• TypeScript, Python, or Java experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve REST API standards, versioning, compatibility guarantees, deprecation policy, and OpenAPI tooling
• Design and ship stable, documented API endpoints
• Build API gateway routing, authentication, rate limiting, quota management, and per-tenant usage metering
• Define reusable platform primitives
• Build and evolve SDKs and client libraries
• Instrument API usage for adoption metrics, error patterns, and latency SLOs
• Bring external developer feedback and feature requests into roadmap planning
