About the Role
You will lead V-BAT flight operations and deployments in land-based and maritime environments. You will plan missions, assess risk, brief and debrief missions, conduct functional check flights, maintain configuration and logbook accuracy, coordinate fleet readiness, mentor operators, represent operations to customers, and travel extensively.
Requirements
- 2,000 documented unmanned flight hours or 1,000 manned flight hours
- Instructor experience in manned or unmanned aviation
- FAA Private Pilot License
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- Ability to obtain and hold a Secret DoD security clearance
- Ability to pass background, drug, and customer-required medical and dental screenings
- Willingness to travel 50–75% for deployments
- Ability to lead and operate independently in small teams under austere conditions
- Aviation judgment, decision-making, and risk management skills
Responsibilities
- Lead V-BAT flight operations for DoD and foreign customers
- Lead mission planning activities and perform risk assessments
- Deliver pre-mission briefings and structured post-flight debriefs
- Execute flight operations and conduct functional check flights
- Validate systems and maintain aircraft configuration control and logbook accuracy
- Coordinate with maintenance to sustain fleet readiness
- Mentor junior operators
- Serve as the on-site operational representative to customers
- Travel in support of deployments
