About the Role
You will elevate the visual quality, consistency and craft of the Tide app within the Design Systems team. You will evolve visual language, refine interface foundations, lead UI initiatives, create concepts and prototypes, explain design decisions, and champion accessibility, usability and visual craft.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in visual design, graphic design, UI design, or a related field
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing digital products
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or other industry-standard design software
- Ability to explore and adopt AI-powered design tools and emerging technologies
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS and front-end frameworks
- Experience with motion design and prototyping tools
- Experience working in or with design systems
- Exceptional UI design skills
- Ability to balance visual craft with engineering feasibility
- Strong problem-solving abilities and an analytical mindset
- Excellent communication skills
- Documentation skills with Storybook and Zeroheight
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in agile environments
- Leadership qualities and ability to mentor team members
- Familiarity with accessibility auditing tools and processes
Responsibilities
- Evolve the visual language, components and patterns
- Refine the colour palette, typography, spacing and visual hierarchy
- Identify high-impact UI improvements across the app
- Lead UI-focused initiatives
- Create visual concepts and prototypes
- Build narratives around design decisions
- Balance aesthetic excellence with usability, accessibility and technical feasibility
- Champion visual craft through reviews, feedback and collaboration
