About the Role
You will develop thermal designs and analyses for lunar mission concepts, landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft. You will perform trade studies, resolve thermal impacts, support mission architecture, prepare technical content, and collaborate on customer and program needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Space-system development, systems engineering, thermal design and analysis, mechanical and fluid systems, or manufacturing experience
- Proposal and external customer-presentation experience
- Mission- and system-level requirements authoring and decomposition experience
- Understanding of launch, space, and lunar environments
- Must be a U.S. Person and eligible for required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Develop and review lunar lander, rover, surface power system, and spacecraft concepts
- Develop technical content for mission opportunities and internal development programs
- Perform trade studies
- Perform thermal design and analysis for mission concepts
- Develop thermal-management systems for lunar spacecraft
- Identify and resolve system-level impacts from thermal-design requirements
- Contribute to schedule, resourcing, and budget estimates
- Resolve technical risks with engineering disciplines, partners, customers, and vendors
- Translate customer requirements into product goals and system architectures
