About the Role

You will design and deliver regulated on-chain financial systems for Japanese financial institutions. You will translate financial regulations and legal documents into system requirements, data models, access controls, and operational processes. You will coordinate stakeholders, review technical designs, define resilience and audit requirements, maintain regulatory documentation, and manage external delivery partners and project risks.

Requirements

  • Native-level Japanese ability to independently interpret legal documents and translate them into system requirements
  • English reading and writing ability for design documentation, code reviews, and chat communication
  • At least 3 years of design and development experience for core or mission-critical systems in securities, banking, trust, or asset management
  • Experience designing data models for accounts, balances, trades, settlement, and clearing
  • Understanding of report-ready table structures, daily batch and closing processes, and accounting and tax processing
  • Experience designing reconciliation, inconsistency detection, and correction processes
  • Experience as a primary contributor to the design or construction of systems operating under Japanese financial regulations

Responsibilities

  • Translate Japanese financial regulations and legal requirements into system requirements, data models, and access-control designs
  • Define the relationship between statutory ledgers and on-chain records and support its implementation
  • Formalize transfer restrictions and eligibility rules from product specifications, terms, and contracts
  • Gather requirements and coordinate system integrations with financial institutions
  • Align technical requirements with financial institutions, trust banks, and asset managers
  • Manage scope decisions based on feasibility, regulatory risk, and development cost
  • Design phased delivery and testnet-to-mainnet migration plans
  • Review design documents and architecture decision records
  • Define and validate availability, RTO/RPO, audit logging, segregation of duties, and disaster-recovery requirements
  • Design and maintain documentation for registrations, regulatory inspections, system audits, and outsourced-service management
  • Prepare internal-control and system-risk-management materials
  • Manage joint delivery teams with external partners, including SIers
  • Define outsourced scopes, deliverables, quality standards, and acceptance criteria
  • Identify technical, regulatory, and schedule risks and escalate them to leadership
  • Track unresolved issues and manage decision deadlines
