Senior Technical Product Manager – APIs & Platform

About the Role

You will own the definition, design, and delivery of internal and external APIs. You will analyze system architecture and data models to design clean, scalable APIs, and define standards for versioning and lifecycle management. You will deploy and operate the API Gateway with security, authentication, rate limiting, and monitoring. You will act as the product owner for APIs, translate business and technical needs into clear API specifications, write and maintain OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and examples, collaborate closely with backend, frontend, infrastructure, and security teams, and interact directly with external partners to support integrations and gather feedback. You will balance product thinking with hands-on execution, including writing and reviewing production-level code when needed.

Requirements

  • Strong background as a Technical Product Manager Software Engineer or Solutions Architect
  • Proven experience designing and managing REST and/or GraphQL APIs
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems microservices architectures and data modeling
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating API Gateways (Kong Apigee AWS API Gateway NGINX)
  • Ability to read write and review production-level code
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially for technical documentation
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms AWS GCP or Azure (nice to have)
  • Experience defining APIs for fintech blockchain or data-heavy platforms (nice to have)

Responsibilities

  • Define API architecture
  • Design scalable APIs based on system architecture and data models
  • Deploy and manage API Gateway including security authentication rate limiting and monitoring
  • Translate business and technical requirements into API specifications
  • Write and maintain high-quality API documentation (OpenAPI Swagger guides examples)
  • Collaborate with backend frontend infrastructure and security teams
  • Support external partner integrations and gather feedback
  • Write and review production-level code when needed
  • Define standards for API versioning lifecycle management and backward compatibility
