About the Role

You will serve as the primary contact for complex accounting queries and advise on accounting positions, new products, and non-standard transactions. You will review Group financial statements and disclosures, prepare Audit Committee and auditor papers, maintain accounting policies, track standards changes, deliver training, and support implementation across subsidiaries.

Requirements

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant.
• 3+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting policy, technical accounting, or Big 4 accounting advisory.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of UK-IAS, including specialised and judgemental areas.
• Experience reviewing financial statements from a technical accounting perspective, including judgements and disclosures.
• Ability to lead technical accounting matters and align senior leaders and cross-functional teams to relevant standards.
• Strong communication skills for translating technical standards into practical guidance.
• Experience implementing technical accounting conclusions in practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on complex accounting queries and review accounting positions.
• Perform ad-hoc technical accounting analysis using underlying data.
• Assess accounting implications of new products and complex or non-standard transactions.
• Translate technical standards into actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
• Review Group financial statements, accounting treatments, and disclosures for year-end and half-year reporting.
• Write sections of Audit Committee papers on key accounting judgements and estimates.
• Lead discussions with external auditors on complex and judgemental accounting areas.
• Develop and maintain Group accounting policies and the policy manual.
• Track accounting standards and amendments, and lead adoption impact assessments and implementation plans.
• Lead Group training on new and existing accounting standards.
• Collaborate with Financial Operations, Financial Control, external auditors, advisors, and local financial controllers.
• Assess local GAAP to UK-IAS differences and their impact on Group consolidation.
• Implement new processes and products with Financial Operations and Financial Control.
