About the Role
You will assess and qualify suppliers, audit their quality systems and processes, and approve parts and production readiness. You will monitor supplier performance, lead corrective actions and root-cause investigations, review first-article and APQP/PPAP deliverables, and travel to supplier sites as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 7–10+ years of supplier, quality, or manufacturing quality experience
- Supplier assessment, auditing, qualification, and development experience
- ISO 9001, AS9100, or applicable quality-management system knowledge
- First Article Inspection and APQP/PPAP experience
- SCAR, 8D, and 5 Whys experience
- Knowledge of PCBAs, cables, sheet metal, machined parts, plastics, and system assemblies
- SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA, sampling plans, control plans, and PFMEA knowledge
- PLM system knowledge
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Responsibilities
- Assess and qualify new suppliers
- Conduct supplier quality-system and process audits
- Define supplier quality deliverables for new parts and NPI builds
- Review and approve First Article Inspection packages
- Drive APQP and PPAP activities
- Monitor supplier scorecards and quality trends
- Manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests
- Lead supplier root-cause investigations and corrective actions
- Travel to supplier sites for qualification, audits, and issue resolution
