About the Role
Define the long-term technical strategy for a cloud storage engine and drive its architectural roadmap. Build storage foundations with C, C++, Go, or Rust, work with storage protocols, lead critical architecture decisions, solve performance bottlenecks across distributed clusters, and collaborate with executive leadership and product teams.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed cloud computing infrastructure products
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
- Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of distributed state and data protection at petabyte scale
- Mastery of professional software engineering practices across the full SDLC
- Ability to lead initiatives across the engineering organization
- Experience with C, C++, Go, and/or Rust
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term technical strategy for the storage engine
- Identify industry trends and integrate them into the storage roadmap
- Build the foundations of the storage re-architecture
- Architect and implement NFS, SMB, iSCSI, and NVMe/TCP solutions
- Drive and maintain open-source contributions
- Serve as the final arbiter for critical architecture decisions
- Lead complex design reviews across storage, networking, and virtualization
- Lead teams solving performance bottlenecks
- Align technical capabilities with business milestones
