About the Role

Define the long-term technical strategy for a cloud storage engine and drive its architectural roadmap. Build storage foundations with C, C++, Go, or Rust, work with storage protocols, lead critical architecture decisions, solve performance bottlenecks across distributed clusters, and collaborate with executive leadership and product teams.

Requirements

12+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed cloud computing infrastructure products
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of distributed state and data protection at petabyte scale
Mastery of professional software engineering practices across the full SDLC
Ability to lead initiatives across the engineering organization
Experience with C, C++, Go, and/or Rust

Responsibilities

Define and drive the long-term technical strategy for the storage engine
Identify industry trends and integrate them into the storage roadmap
Build the foundations of the storage re-architecture
Architect and implement NFS, SMB, iSCSI, and NVMe/TCP solutions
Drive and maintain open-source contributions
Serve as the final arbiter for critical architecture decisions
Lead complex design reviews across storage, networking, and virtualization
Lead teams solving performance bottlenecks
Align technical capabilities with business milestones
