About the Role
You will shape the architecture of service mesh connectivity compute platforms and infrastructure provisioning. You will evolve Istio Envoy Kubernetes and Terraform systems diagnose issues at the source level contribute upstream when useful and lead architecture proposals design reviews and cross functional technical decisions.
Requirements
- Deep hands on expertise with Kubernetes internals including the API server controllers etcd scheduler and admission control
- Source code level knowledge of Istio or Envoy and the xDS API
- Wire level knowledge of HTTP/2 and gRPC
- Architectural scale experience with Terraform modules providers remote state and multi region provisioning
- Production Go or Python experience for infrastructure tooling
- Experience driving cross functional architectural change across complex engineering organizations
Responsibilities
- Own service mesh architecture and evolve Istio and Envoy deployments
- Drive Kubernetes cluster lifecycle scheduling control plane and multi region resiliency strategy
- Redesign Terraform provisioning into a scalable self service platform
- Diagnose issues across Kubernetes API machinery etcd Envoy xDS and Terraform providers
- Produce architecture proposals lead design reviews and align teams on infrastructure decisions
