About the Role

You will develop scalable silicon-photonics solutions for AI communications and computation. You will assess product feasibility, create engineering plans, execute product designs, validate hardware performance, resolve design and manufacturing challenges, define production tests, and coordinate external vendor deliverables.

Requirements

• PhD in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related discipline with at least 3 years of relevant post-degree experience
• At least 8 years of experience in photonic devices, photonic integrated circuits, and semiconductor physics
• Knowledge of silicon photonics
• Cross-functional engineering collaboration experience
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts
• Problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver high-volume laser and optical products
• Drive new laser and photonics concepts with product and architecture teams
• Translate module requirements and architecture specifications into engineering plans
• Resolve design and manufacturing challenges
• Build photonic systems, control algorithms, PICs, and control ASICs across disciplines
• Define production test and validation protocols
• Characterize components and debug prototype and validation test results
• Work with external vendors on processes and components
