About the Role
You will design and develop backend services for the cloud platform, improve distributed systems, APIs, databases, and infrastructure, and deliver customer-facing platform features. You will write maintainable software and infrastructure as code, conduct design and code reviews, create documentation and testing strategies, and join an on-call rotation for critical incidents.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems and API microservices
- Experience improving system efficiency, scalability, and stability
- Experience building and operating distributed microservice architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Systems knowledge across compute, networking, storage, concurrency, memory management, and I/O
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Expert programming experience in one or more languages, preferably Golang
- Proficiency with version control and infrastructure as code in CI/CD pipelines
Responsibilities
- Identify, design, and develop foundational backend services
- Improve the robustness and scalability of distributed systems, APIs, databases, and infrastructure
- Partner with product teams to deliver solutions for functional requirements
- Write well-tested, maintainable software and infrastructure as code
- Conduct design and code reviews
- Create developer documentation and testing strategies
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents
