About the Role
You will build and ship the software that runs the Akash marketplace, working across the Akash node and provider daemon. You will write Go, test and release network upgrades, troubleshoot Kubernetes provider issues, maintain shared APIs, and produce feature specifications and technical documentation. You will also contribute to closed-source products and strengthen engineering practices for coding, testing, deployment, security, and failure handling.
Requirements
- Current production experience with Go
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience debugging workloads, networking, and cluster issues
- Expert knowledge of systems design and distributed computing
- Ability to model scenarios in reproducible test environments
- Knowledge of cryptography, key and certificate management, identity, and access management
- Experience with test-driven development and testing frameworks
- Experience developing backend APIs and complex services
- Ability to write technical documentation for engineers and provider operators
- Experience working in an open-source Git workflow
- Ability to communicate while working remotely and asynchronously
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain core Go features across the Akash node and provider daemon
- Design, test, and ship network upgrades from testnet validation through mainnet rollout
- Diagnose and resolve Kubernetes provider issues involving gateways, networking, and workload orchestration
- Maintain shared gRPC and protobuf API definitions and code generation
- Cut, sign, and release provider and node software
- Write feature specifications and technical documentation
- Contribute to products including AkashML and Akash Homenode
- Identify attack vectors, failure handling, and other non-functional requirements
- Improve coding, testing, and deployment practices
