About the Role

You will build and operate production Python systems for encrypting customer data, managing keys and signatures, and protecting PHI, PII, customer credentials, and authentication boundaries. You will design security foundations, improve tenant isolation, and safely deliver migrations, staged rollouts, recovery, and rollback for live systems.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Professional experience with Python in a substantial production codebase.
• Experience implementing and operating security-critical product systems.
• Depth in encryption and key management, authentication infrastructure, multi-tenant isolation, sensitive-data processing, or secure customer credential handling.
• Practical knowledge of applied cryptography.
• Experience changing critical systems without disrupting customers or making stored data inaccessible.
• Strong judgment around trust boundaries, failure modes, and consequences of compromise.
• Ability to take ambiguous technical problems through production rollout.

Responsibilities

• Build encryption and key-management systems.
• Build controls for detecting, transforming, and safely handling sensitive data.
• Protect customer credentials and tokens in storage, access control, and runtime use.
• Improve tenant isolation, signing and verification, session and token handling, and service-to-service authentication.
• Build Python services, libraries, and APIs for shared security foundations.
• Plan and execute migrations, staged rollouts, observability, recovery, and rollback.
