About the Role

You will lead the technical direction for radar, lidar, and thermal sensor simulation. You will build physically accurate models in modern C++, validate them against measured sensor data, improve fidelity for challenging environmental conditions, and establish rigorous validation standards. You will translate perception failure modes into prioritized requirements, guide engineers in the domain, and use AI tooling to accelerate coding and literature review.

Requirements

• Experience building deployed simulation, sensor-modeling, or computational-physics software
• Strong grounding in physics, applied physics, or electrical engineering
• Radar signal processing, radar domain, RF, or electromagnetics experience
• Deep knowledge of radar, lidar, thermal, infrared, or electro-optical sensor physics
• Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation, signal processing, radiometry, and linear algebra
• Experience validating models against measured sensor data
• Ability to write, debug, and extend performance-sensitive modern C++ code
• Technical leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Set the multi-quarter technical roadmap for radar, lidar, and thermal modeling
• Build physically accurate radar, lidar, and thermal sensor models
• Validate simulation output against real sensor data
• Develop models for weather and environmental effects
• Establish scientific validation standards across the sensor suite
• Translate perception failure modes into prioritized fidelity requirements
• Provide technical direction to engineers
• Use AI tooling for coding and literature review
