About the Role
Advise on India's regulatory framework, operationalize compliance requirements, manage regulatory submissions, and represent regulatory interests in cross-functional projects. Partner with Product, Tech, Risk, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Commercial stakeholders, negotiate agreements, mentor colleagues, and lead high-impact projects.
Requirements
- Indian legal qualification
- Fluent English
- 10+ years of post-qualification experience
- Regulatory or compliance experience with RBI-regulated entities
- Deep knowledge of payments, banking, or financial services
- Acquiring and card network knowledge
- Policy analysis
- Stakeholder management
Responsibilities
- Monitor regulatory developments in India, including RBI circulars and policies
- Advise on the impact and implementation of regulatory requirements
- Operationalize complex regulatory requirements and monitor ongoing compliance
- Provide legal and regulatory advice to internal stakeholders
- Manage regulatory requests, filings, engagements, and reporting obligations
- Represent the regulatory team on cross-functional projects
- Analyze and summarize regulatory policies, guidelines, bills, and acts
- Negotiate agreements with merchants, service providers, and external partners
- Provide mentorship to junior colleagues
- Initiate and lead complex, high-impact cross-functional projects
