About the Role
You will own and evolve two end-to-end design systems for institutional and consumer products across web and mobile. You will design and ship components, tokens, themes, patterns, and Figma libraries; establish visual and motion standards; and ensure parity with production component libraries. You will work closely with engineers to keep design and code aligned, define responsive and native mobile behavior, and build accessible components that meet WCAG 2.2 AA. You will document system usage, run contribution and governance processes, track adoption, audit gaps and drift, and use AI tooling to support design and engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 6+ years of product design experience, including 3+ years focused on design systems
- Experience building and scaling shared design systems across multiple web and mobile products
- Experience with mobile-specific design systems and interactions
- UI design expertise in visual hierarchy, typography, layout, motion, and interaction details
- Experience building scalable components, design tokens, and theming
- Understanding of front-end component libraries and design-token flows from Figma to code
- Advanced Figma skills, including variables, modes, auto layout, component properties, and library management
- Experience partnering closely with engineers
- Accessibility knowledge and experience shipping WCAG AA-compliant components
- Experience writing documentation and running cross-team governance
- Fluency with AI tooling, agents, markdown guideline files, and MCP integrations
- Experience with design-to-code tooling such as Code Connect, token pipelines, or Storybook
- Portfolio demonstrating design systems work
Responsibilities
- Own institutional and consumer design systems across web and mobile
- Maintain components, design tokens, theming, patterns, and Figma libraries
- Support the marketing design system to maintain brand and design-to-code consistency
- Define visual language, motion principles, and interaction details
- Design and ship system primitives, components, templates, and interaction details
- Partner with UI engineers to keep Figma and production component libraries in sync
- Define mobile interactions, responsive behavior, and parity rules across web and native surfaces
- Ensure components meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards
- Write usage documentation, examples, and contribution guides
- Run system governance, including reviews, versioning, deprecation, and adoption tracking
- Audit products for system gaps, inconsistencies, and drift and drive fixes
- Use AI agents, markdown guidelines, and MCP integrations in daily workflows
