About the Role

You will own payment risk across deposits, withdrawals, and settlement payouts. You will investigate live fraud cases, monitor transaction data, write and tune fraud rules, identify control gaps, manage risk-related processor and banking relationships, and produce risk memos and reporting for senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience in payments risk, fraud risk, or transaction monitoring
  • Experience at a fintech, exchange, payments company, bank, or regulated financial services business
  • Experience with ACH, wire, Visa, Mastercard, RTP, or FedNow payment rails
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML fundamentals, SAR filing, structuring detection, and transaction monitoring
  • Experience setting quantitative risk thresholds
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience auditing payment stacks and identifying control gaps
  • CFTC-regulated or derivatives exchange experience is a plus
  • High-growth payments experience is a plus
  • Crypto or blockchain-adjacent payment experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Investigate live payment fraud cases across deposits, withdrawals, and settlement payouts
  • Make decisions on holds, reversals, and account actions
  • Monitor transaction data for anomalies around high-volume market events
  • Write and tune fraud detection rules
  • Identify control gaps across the payment stack
  • Work with Engineering, Compliance, and InfoSec to close control gaps
  • Own risk-related relationships with payment processors, card networks, and banking partners
  • Produce risk memos and committee-level reporting
  • Maintain fraud and payment risk policies, runbooks, and metric tracking
