About the Role
You will execute mechanical product designs from concept to production. You will create CAD models and drawings, prototype and test components, conduct structural and material analysis, resolve issues across production and deployment, ensure compliance, and support manufacturing process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or a related field
- Machined, sheet-metal, and welded-part design
- OnShape, SolidWorks, or Creo
- ECO and deviation documentation
- Arena or similar tools
- Functional prototyping
- Tolerance stackup
- FAI
- PPAP
- DFMEA
- CNC machining
- Sheet-metal fabrication
- Welding
- 3D printing
- Ability to work from the Charlestown office at least 3 days per week
Responsibilities
- Execute product designs from concept through production
- Create sketches, CAD models, technical drawings, and documentation
- Conduct simulations, prototyping, structural analysis, material selection, and stress testing
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues across design, production, and deployment
- Lead continuous improvements to robot performance and reliability
- Ensure compliance with standards, safety regulations, and quality processes
- Support production teams in scaling and improving manufacturing processes
