About the Role
You will advance ceramic and metallic materials for high temperature reactor and module applications. You will develop joints interfaces and protective coatings connect material properties to reactor performance lead durability assessments and root cause analyses and define quality controls. You will also create characterization methods translate research into scale up specifications and coordinate external technical partners and suppliers.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Materials Science or an equivalent degree
- 3+ years of industry experience with materials for industrial applications in a manufacturing-focused environment
- Deep expertise in materials properties and performance for high-temperature applications
- Experience with ceramic materials manufacturing and joining processes
- Industrial experience or exposure ideally in a startup or fast-moving company
- Experience with SEM Raman and micro-CT
- Ability to engage evaluate and collaborate with external partners
- Strong organization communication and sense of urgency
- Experience measuring electrical and mechanical properties of ceramic and metallic materials
- Experience translating material manufacturing processes from R&D to commercial scale
Responsibilities
- Select and develop ceramic and metallic materials and components
- Develop ceramic-to-metal joints interfaces and joining processes
- Advance protective coatings for operating conditions
- Connect material properties to reactor-level performance
- Lead durability assessments and root-cause analyses
- Define quality-control parameters and acceptance criteria
- Develop characterization and measurement methods for electrical and mechanical properties
- Translate R&D developments into scale-up-ready specifications and process controls
- Manage external technical partners suppliers and cross-functional collaboration
