About the Role
You will implement best-in-class risk management across the platform and products. You will lead and grow a team that protects customers from fraud, abuse, and financial risk while enabling scalable growth. You will work with data science to develop detection systems and experimentation frameworks, partner with product and engineering to embed controls into launches, build fraud insight reporting, create and operationalize policies and procedures, manage vendor relationships, and continuously improve the customer experience around fraud and security.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-time experience in risk management at a fintech company
- Experience with industry fraud prevention tools and technology
- Experience building scalable, technology-enabled risk operations in a high-growth environment
- Strong intuition for balancing automation, controls, and customer experience
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership and experience developing high-performance teams
- Strong collaboration skills with engineering, data, and product teams
- Track record of facilitating a data-driven culture and using data to inform decisions
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
- Nice to have: quantitative background in data, statistics, or mathematics
- Nice to have: experience with machine learning applied to risk
- Nice to have: previous experience in consumer banking
Responsibilities
- Lead the team protecting the platform and customers from fraud, abuse, and financial risk
- Own workload management, team capacity, and roadmap planning for fraud operations
- Partner with data science to develop scalable detection systems and experimentation frameworks
- Implement risk decisioning strategies that balance customer experience and fraud detection
- Partner with product and engineering to integrate fraud and risk controls into product launches
- Drive risk management technology strategy and detection framework development
- Build fraud insight reporting to drive operational efficiencies and rule optimization
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures
- Scale fraud operations across current and future financial products
- Oversee vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective sourcing and quality of service
- Create accountability and a performance-oriented culture within the team
