About the Role

You will serve as the senior subject matter expert for hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9, advise clients on foreign exchange and interest rate hedges, review documentation and effectiveness testing, support audits, mentor accounting professionals, improve operational processes, and advise client finance leadership.

Requirements

  • CPA required
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 7+ years focused on derivative instruments and hedge accounting
  • Hedge accounting experience under ASC 815 and IFRS 9
  • Foreign exchange and interest rate risk management experience
  • Technical knowledge of hedge accounting elections, effectiveness testing, and disclosures
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange derivatives
  • Knowledge of interest rate derivatives
  • Process improvement experience
  • Hedge accounting platform experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary hedge accounting subject matter expert
  • Advise clients on foreign exchange and interest rate hedge programs
  • Review and approve hedge documentation and effectiveness testing methodologies
  • Oversee quantitative and qualitative effectiveness assessments
  • Guide clients in structuring hedging relationships
  • Translate FASB and IASB updates into impact summaries
  • Lead audit support and review work products
  • Mentor and develop derivative accounting team members
  • Implement hedge accounting process improvements
  • Develop standardized workflows, templates, and close checklists
  • Establish and track team KPIs
  • Lead close-cycle retrospectives
  • Resolve client inquiries and audit questions
  • Build relationships with client treasury, accounting, and finance leadership
  • Partner with Product, Implementation, and Customer Success teams
