About the Role

Provide strategic legal guidance across KAST's UK, EU, and Middle East operations, working with Product, Compliance, and GTM teams to support regulatory compliance and engagement with regulators and industry groups.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of PQE and qualification in England and Wales or an EU Member State.
  • Experience advising on digital assets and payments at a top law firm or in-house.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulation and UK financial services law.
  • Working knowledge of EU financial services regulation, including MiCA, PSD2, EMD2, and MLD5/6.
  • Knowledge of at least one MENA regulatory framework.
  • Hands-on UK GDPR and/or EU GDPR advisory experience.
  • Familiarity with AML/CTF, sanctions compliance, and Travel Rule obligations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under ambiguity and translate complex regulation into practical guidance.
  • Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on legal and compliance issues for stablecoin, payments, and card products.
  • Expand KAST's product offering in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Draft and maintain customer-facing legal documents, including Terms of Service, user agreements, and disclosures.
  • Manage UK, EU, Middle East, financial services, digital asset, and privacy regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and their impact on KAST's regional business.
  • Own KAST's global data privacy legal function.
  • Design compliant product structures with Product and Commercial teams.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Support Visa and Mastercard card programme compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with AML/CTF, OFAC, sanctions, and Travel Rule obligations.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships and legal spend.
  • Engage with regional regulators and industry associations.
