About the Role
You will own gear and transmission design from system sizing through validation and mass production. You will analyze gear performance, create CAD models and drawings, define manufacturing and inspection strategies, build test rigs, and work with engineering and suppliers to resolve risks.
Requirements
- 7+ years of gear and geared-transmission design experience
- Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar degree
- End-to-end gear design ownership through mass manufacturing
- KISSsoft or equivalent gear analysis software
- CATIA or equivalent 3D CAD
- AGMA/ISO gear rating standards, gear metrology, and tolerancing
- Gear manufacturing processes and supplier development
Responsibilities
- Own gear design from system sizing through mass production
- Perform gear sizing, stress analysis, and micro-geometry optimization
- Design gears, shafts, and transmission assemblies in CATIA
- Define gear manufacturing strategies and drive supplier DFM
- Generate drawings, gear data tables, GD&T, and inspection plans
- Build and run test rigs for efficiency, backlash, wear, and fatigue life
- Correlate test data with analytical models
