About the Role

You will lead and mature cloud and infrastructure financial management capabilities across GCP, AWS, and on-prem environments. Working within the infrastructure team, you will drive cost transparency, optimize cloud spend at scale, and partner with engineering, product, and finance teams to keep the global infrastructure efficient, predictable, and aligned with business priorities. You'll turn complex usage patterns into actionable insights, influence technical teams, and help establish a culture of cost accountability and data-driven decision-making, balancing tactical optimizations with long-term architectural improvements while navigating both engineering and executive conversations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles with a strong focus on cost optimization
  • Hands-on experience with GCP (priority) and AWS; strong understanding of cloud pricing models, resource types, and cost management tooling
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes resource allocation, autoscaling, workload placement, and cost attribution in distributed environments
  • Proficiency with cloud cost tools (GCP Billing exports, BigQuery, AWS CUR, Kubecost, CloudHealth, observability cost monitoring features, custom dashboards)
  • Strong analytical and data-engineering skills, able to build dashboards, SQL-based pipelines, and forecasting models
  • Experience driving cross-functional initiatives and influencing engineering, product, and finance stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-focused recommendations
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • GCP and/or AWS cloud certifications (on Professional level, preferable) - nice to have
  • Understanding of FinOps Framework practices or FinOps Certified Practitioner certification - nice to have
  • Prior experience in gaming, high-growth tech, SaaS, or multi-cloud platform environments - nice to have
  • Familiarity with chargeback/showback models, internal cost allocation systems, or multi-tenant architecture - nice to have
  • Experience with Terraform, Helm, or GitOps workflows in cost-related automation - nice to have
  • Background in data analytics, cloud architecture, or financial modeling - nice to have

Responsibilities

  • Lead the cloud cost optimization strategy across GCP, AWS, and on-prem infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and financial predictability
  • Analyze compute, storage, networking, and Kubernetes resource usage to identify actionable cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance or reliability
  • Build and maintain forecasting models, dashboards, and automated reporting that provide real-time visibility into cost drivers and trends across teams and services
  • Develop and implement tagging/labeling standards, budgeting processes, and governance policies to enable cross-organizational accountability
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Finance, and Product to guide workload placement, architecture decisions, and scaling strategies
  • Drive adoption of FinOps best practices including rightsizing, reservation planning, autoscaling optimizations, multi-cloud efficiency, and cost-effective storage strategies
  • Create and refine internal tooling, automation, and pipelines for cost monitoring, anomaly detection, and usage attribution across Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines and physical servers
  • Advocate for a cost-aware culture by training engineering teams, running FinOps reviews, and communicating insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud pricing models, vendor offerings, and industry trends to continuously evolve FinOps maturity
