About the Role

You will build and own the framework for testing, documenting, monitoring, and improving financial-crimes compliance controls. You will evaluate manual and automated processes, detection rules, AI-enabled workflows, and emerging risks while partnering with product and technology stakeholders. You will also support regulatory examinations and provide independent secondary reviews when required.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in financial-crimes compliance, AML/BSA, or sanctions
  • 3+ years of experience in technical compliance, controls, compliance testing, quality assurance, or a similar role
  • 3+ years as an AML or financial-crimes trusted advisor
  • Experience developing, implementing, or evaluating manual and technology-enabled controls
  • Deep understanding of financial-crimes typologies and evolving risk across products and payment flows
  • AI fluency and ability to assess AI tool output and limitations
  • Strong data-analysis skills
  • Experience presenting compliance findings or program materials to regulators, auditors, examiners, or bank partners
  • ACAMS certification or equivalent financial-crimes certification
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate autonomously and build structure in an evolving role
  • Experience with AI, machine learning, LLM, automation, or decisioning controls
  • Experience in fintech, payments, banking, card, or money-transmission compliance
  • Experience designing controls for transaction monitoring, KYC, KYB, EDD, sanctions screening, suspicious-activity reporting, or payment-risk workflows

Responsibilities

  • Own FCC controls effectiveness across manual procedures, detection rules, workflow controls, automation deployments, and AI-enabled capabilities
  • Establish standards for testing, evidence retention, issue identification, remediation tracking, and control monitoring
  • Define FCC requirements for major product and technology initiatives
  • Translate financial-crimes requirements into scalable workflows, controls, and user experiences
  • Lead AI and automation strategy with appropriate testing, documentation, monitoring, and human oversight
  • Evaluate risk coverage, identify control gaps, and drive improvements using data and analytical methods
  • Perform independent secondary reviews for FCC compliance reviews
