About the Role

You will serve as the primary finance partner for Drug Design and Development, supporting strategic and operational finance from discovery through preclinical testing. You will lead budgeting and forecasting, build portfolio and NPV models, model partnership economics, support vendor budget negotiations, deliver variance analysis, and improve reporting and accrual processes.

Requirements

  • Direct experience managing R&D or drug development finance and FP&A or business partnering within biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
  • Experience building and maintaining financial models for portfolio prioritisation and project NPV.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another quantitative field.
  • Executive-level communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Track record in business partnering, influencing senior leadership, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience using LLMs and other AI to drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance partner for the Drug Design and Development team.
  • Provide strategic financial partnership to support portfolio objectives.
  • Lead end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Provide financial decision support for the Portfolio Steering Team.
  • Build project-level NPV and risk-adjusted valuation models for pipeline assets.
  • Model economics for biopharma partnerships, licensing deals, research collaborations, and milestones.
  • Evaluate, benchmark, and negotiate vendor budgets during RFP processes.
  • Deliver variance analysis and improve financial reporting and workflows.
  • Oversee efficient accrual processes.
