About the Role
You will maintain, modify, repair, inspect, and certify autonomous vehicle platforms, including trucks, trailers, and autonomous systems. You will diagnose component failures, execute preventative maintenance, support remote field work, coordinate supplies, and maintain a safe, clean workspace.
Requirements
- Read, inspect, and implement electrical harness diagrams and mechanical prints
- Use specialized electrical and mechanical tools, including wire crimpers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, torque wrenches, fabrication tools, and hand tools
- Use truck diagnostic instrumentation and perform component failure analysis
- Inspect and identify defects and failures on complex systems
- Use checklists, protocols, and work documentation
- Communicate feedback and insights to engineers and team members
- Work daytime, night, and weekend shifts
- Travel periodically to main locations for short-term cross-training and support
Responsibilities
- Maintain and modify autonomous vehicle platforms, including trucks, trailers, and autonomous systems
- Repair modular subsystems and related harnesses on the bench and in vehicles
- Inspect and certify the operational health of trucks, trailers, and autonomous vehicle platforms
- Work with design and validation engineers on hardware-system development
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and related upkeep programs
- Support material staging and workflow readiness for remote tasks and field teams
- Provide technical coverage at other locations when needed
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Coordinate replenishment and distribution of items consumed in vehicle maintenance
