About the Role

You will own delivery and business outcomes across a multi-team or complex domain scope. You will set milestones, manage dependencies, shape roadmaps with Product, and align cross-functional stakeholders. You will establish operational discipline, guide technical direction with senior engineers, improve the operating model, hire and develop leaders, and remove systemic blockers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 4–6+ years of people-leadership experience
• Experience owning outcomes across multiple teams or a multi-team domain
• Ability to communicate trade-offs credibly to senior leadership
• Experience hiring, developing, and promoting engineering leaders
• Ability to influence technical direction with Staff and Principal engineers
• Commercial understanding of engineering cost and return
• Experience handling performance issues, prioritization conflicts, and peer disagreements
• Experience recovering stalled cross-team initiatives or restoring delivery predictability

Responsibilities

• Own delivery across a multi-team or multi-domain scope
• Set milestones, critical paths, quality gates, and cross-team dependency management
• Shape strategy and roadmaps with Product
• Frame engineering investments in commercial terms
• Align cross-functional stakeholders through durable plans, RFCs, escalation memos, and postmortems
• Partner with Staff-level engineers on technical direction and technical-debt strategy
• Maintain on-call, incident-response, reliability, cost, and unit-economics discipline
• Design roles, ownership, operating rhythms, capacity plans, and metrics
• Hire, develop, and calibrate senior engineers and future leaders
• Eliminate recurring systemic blockers
