About the Role
You will evaluate nonconforming, damaged, and returned aircraft hardware and develop technically sound dispositions. You will create repair and inspection instructions, review engineering and manufacturing evidence, maintain traceable records, and coordinate approvals. You will identify recurring issues, contribute to root-cause and corrective-action work, support supplier investigations, and improve repair, inspection, and sustainment workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent relevant technical experience
- 4+ years of relevant experience in material review board, quality, manufacturing, sustaining, aerospace structures, maintenance, product support, or hardware sustainment
- Experience evaluating nonconforming hardware, damaged components, returned material, field failures, or repairable assemblies
- Knowledge of nonconforming-material processes, material review board workflows, repair dispositions, inspection records, and corrective-action systems
- Experience developing repair or rework instructions, inspection criteria, use-as-is evaluations, or scrap recommendations
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection results, manufacturing records, repair records, and field evidence
- Technical judgment and escalation skills
- Written communication and technical documentation skills
- Ability to work across engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, fleet support, sustainment, and operations
- Ability to manage multiple hardware issues and priorities
Responsibilities
- Evaluate nonconforming material, damaged hardware, returned components, and repairable assemblies
- Develop and document rework, repair, use-as-is, return-to-vendor, and scrap dispositions
- Create and update repair instructions, inspection criteria, and technical documentation
- Review drawings, specifications, inspection results, manufacturing records, repair history, and field evidence
- Coordinate technically sound and approved dispositions with cross-functional partners
- Support returned-material, field-hardware, and production-escape investigations
- Maintain traceable and configuration-controlled material review board records
- Identify recurring nonconformances and elevate trends
- Contribute to root-cause and corrective-action activities
- Improve repair instructions, inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and test processes
- Support supplier-quality investigations
- Improve material review board and sustainment workflows
