About the Role
You will build and maintain engineering tools that help developers diagnose complex software systems. You will develop C++ and Python applications, APIs, services, React interfaces, and visualizations; correlate diagnostic data; improve developer workflows; and establish reusable tooling standards.
Requirements
- Strong modern C++ experience
- Strong Python development experience
- Experience debugging complex concurrent, distributed, or component-based systems
- Experience designing and maintaining production-quality software, libraries, services, APIs, or applications
- Understanding of software architecture and large codebases
- Experience building tools for technical users
- Experience with logs, telemetry, metrics, events, traces, faults, or diagnostic data
- Linux development and debugging skills
- Experience designing APIs, services, and software interfaces
- Software engineering practices including testing, code review, maintainability, documentation, and performance awareness
- Product mindset for internal engineering tools and developer experience
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain engineering tools for diagnosing complex software systems
- Build tooling that combines logs, telemetry, events, faults, diagnostics, and system state
- Build C++ and Python applications, libraries, services, and integrations
- Create tools that correlate information across software components, processes, and machines
- Build React user interfaces and interactive visualizations
- Design debugging, fault-investigation, system-introspection, and engineering-analysis workflows
- Develop APIs and web services for engineering tooling products
- Improve developer experience by converting engineering friction into tooling
- Collaborate with software, autonomy, systems, and test engineers
- Establish reusable UI components, UX patterns, libraries, and engineering standards
- Contribute to tooling architecture and technical direction
