Tools for Humanity is a technology company founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Francisco and Munich. About the Role
You will own the electronic design and validation of PCBAs and electrical systems for flagship hardware devices. You will diagnose and repair hardware, program microcontrollers in C with RTOS for device bring-up, run qualification and verification activities, and coordinate with software and manufacturing to ensure reliable production-ready hardware.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field
- 8-10 years of electronics product development from concept to production
- Experience with multilayer layout creation using E-CAD tools (Altium or EAGLE)
- Proficiency in circuit simulation tools
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Solid understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers
- Experience with oscilloscopes logic analyzers and VNA
- Hands-on experience with embedded camera systems
- Proficient programming skills in C for microcontroller development
- Experience with real-time operating systems preferably FreeRTOS and Zephyr
- Experience with network connectivity including BLE Wi-Fi and LTE and antenna optimization
- Experience mentoring and leading technical work
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficient English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong drive and work ethic to lead projects to completion
Responsibilities
- Own electronic design of PCBAs
- Develop and implement electrical systems and circuits
- Evaluate and verify existing hardware designs
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues
- Oversee qualification verification and validation processes
- Commission and repair electrical assemblies
- Program microcontrollers in C with FreeRTOS and Zephyr
- Validate software releases on hardware with software engineers
- Integrate product design with cross-functional teams
- Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends
