About the Role

You will manage the full technical accounting lifecycle for derivative instruments and hedging relationships across multiple client portfolios. You will prepare documentation, perform effectiveness testing, record journal entries, draft disclosures, interpret accounting guidance, support audits, and communicate complex conclusions clearly to treasury and finance stakeholders.

Requirements

  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with derivative instruments and hedge accounting
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 815 and IFRS 9
  • Experience with fair value measurement under ASC 820 or IFRS 13
  • Familiarity with derivative valuation methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with hedge accounting platforms preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own derivative accounting for interest rate swaps cross currency swaps FX forwards options and commodity derivatives
  • Prepare hedge documentation designation memos risk management objectives and effectiveness testing
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative effectiveness assessments using regression analysis dollar offset and hypothetical derivative methods
  • Prepare journal entries and financial statement disclosures for hedging activities
  • Apply judgment to hedge accounting elections and de designation scenarios
  • Translate new FASB and IASB guidance into actionable impact summaries
  • Lead audit support and engage directly with external auditors
  • Improve internal methodologies templates and technical guidance
